How is it to bike across the bridge and return by ferry?
Palace of Fine Arts is located near the Crissy Field beach and it is on the way to the Golden Gate Bridge from our bike rental shop. It's a beautiful architectural place to get some really nice photos.
Here is the scenic bike path by the Crissy Field beach. You will see the ocean, feel the sand and wind, with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
Let's bike the Golden Gate Bridge! The bridge is 1.8 miles long and the bike paths/sidewalks are on both sides of the bridge with fence to separate the car traffic. You are free to stop for photos, or turn around at any point to ride back.
Wondering what's at the end of the Golden Gate Bridge? It's Vista Point of course! Restrooms are available here, too. If you continue uphill you will find Marin Headland with the bridge view from above, or downhill to find the town of Sausalito.
Biking downhill to Sausalito on Alexander Ave.
When you reach downtown Sausalito, make sure to lock bikes at designated bike parking areas, usually near the ferry parking lot.
If you want, you can have the option to purchase a ferry ticket ($13) in Sausalito and take the ferry back to San Francisco. Bikes are allowed on the ferry! After the ferry drop you off at Fisherman's Wharf, you will take a short ride back to our shop and return your bikes.
